Bamboo Fibre

how to get bamboo fabrics

from the natural bamboo resources to the bamboo yarns
  • Natural bamboo harvest

  • Chipping bamboo into small chips with a length of 3-5cm

  • Seaming bamboo chips with Alkaline to get raw bamboo pulp.

  • After cleaning, filtering and drying, it comes dried bamboo pulp, which looks like paper.

  • Macerating bamboo pulp with an alkali liquid to get cellulose in the paste.

  • After filtering and smashing, there is visible fibre in small pieces.

  • Applying sulfonate to get dissoluble cellulose.

  • Extracting regenerated cellulose fibre by fine sprayers.

  • Washing to get pure bamboo cellulose fibre.

  • Cutting to a certain length.

  • Stoving to get dry bamboo fibre.

  • Clearing up and plumping bamboo fibre, getting rid of impurities.

  • Carding and roving.

  • Siro-spinning to a certain size, like 32s, 40s, for knitting.

Breathable & Mois Wricking

A cross-section of its fibres reveals various micro-holes allowing bamboo cloth superior absorption. Its fibres absorb 40% more than any other type of fibre.

Silky Soft Handfeeling

Bamboo fibre is smooth and round and contains a natural ingredient called pectin that helps enhance its soft texture. It allows your skin to enjoy the pleasure of the gentle touch of nature.

Anti-Bacterial & Hypoallergenic

Bamboo fibre is naturally smoother and rounder with no sharp spurs to irritate skin.  Making it ideal for those who experience allergic reactions or with skin sensitivities.

Organic & Sustainable

Bamboo is extremely friendly to the environment because it is an organic natural resource. It grows so fast that it is by far the most sustainable source of natural fibre for apparel.

  • As one of the fastest-growing natural resources, bamboo is capable of growing up to 4 feet in one day, and takes only 3-5 years to harvest. It is much shorter compared to wood, which needs at least 10 years. This feature would have less impact on the environment of its growth.
  • Bamboo is grown naturally and needs few pesticides. There is no artificial cultivation, and chemical fertiliser applied during its growth cycle. Rely on natural resources, bamboo grows completely in an organic way.
  • At the same time, bamboo is a stem-harvesting plant. With its regenerating nature, bamboo can improve soil quality and prevent erosion.
  • Bamboo is considered climate-positive. A stand of Bamboo absorbs 5 times the greenhouse gases while releasing 35% more clean oxygen back into the atmosphere than an equivalent stand of trees.
